In the sacred atmosphere of April, as the nation celebrates the historic 50th anniversary of reunification, a new milestone was marked on the Pearl Island of Phu Quoc, on 29/04/2025 the topping-out of Sun Serenia Phu Quoc Sun Hospital, completed 43 days ahead of schedule. This significant achievement not only reflects outstanding construction progress but also symbolizes the trust, cooperation, and full commitment between the General Contractor, Central, and the Sun Group.

Aiming for completion by December 2025, the Central’s PMB is now expediting the next construction phases. Upon its inauguration, Sun Serenia Hospital will address the healthcare needs of local residents and tourists, both domestic and international, enhancing visitor confidence and supporting long-term settlement and tourism in Phu Quoc.

In his address at the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Minh Vy, Chairman and CEO of Sun Group Southern Construction Division, remarked: “The General Contractor, Central, has worked in complete harmony with the investor to accelerate progress. Compared to our initial plans, we are truly impressed by the achievements you have delivered. We hope that, with the continued collective effort and unity, this project will be completed ahead of schedule.”

Following this remarkable topping-out milestone, Central was further entrusted by the investor, Sun Group, with the full package of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works, as well as the BOH (Back of House) area of Sun Serenia Hospital. This not only strengthens an already solid partnership but also serves as a strong testament to Central’s specialized capabilities and unwavering commitment to excellence in every project. This trust has been built through practical experience with technically demanding, fast-paced projects meeting international standards, such as Empire Cove Residences (Thu Thiem), Thao Dien Green, Masteri Centre Point, Vinhomes Grand Park (Ho Chi Minh City), SolForest Ecopark (Hanoi), Happy One Central (Binh Duong), and most recently, Sun Symphony Residence in Da Nang – all demonstrating Central’s strengths in MEP and finishing within the elite ecosystem developed by Sun Group.

On the morning of April 27, 2025, in a ceremony that coincided with the nation’s commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025), Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, conducted a thorough inspection of the Quang Tri Airport. This infrastructure endeavor is a significant hallmark of the era, symbolizing the robust development aspirations of the heroic land of Quang Tri.

The government delegation included leaders from various ministries, including Construction, Finance, Natural Resources and Environment, and the Office of the Government, along with Quang Tri provincial leaders, representatives from the T&T Group and Cienco 4 consortium, Quang Tri Airport Co. Ltd, general contractor Central, and other partner units.

The Quang Tri Airport project (a level 4C facility, oriented capacity to serve 5 million passengers/year), invested by T&T Group and Cienco 4 consortium, has been started in July 2024 and is expected to complete phase 1 in July 2026. This first phase will include the construction of a 2,400-meter runway, a control tower, technical infrastructure systems, and a single-story passenger terminal, designed to accommodate 500,000 passengers per year. These elements are fundamental to ensuring the airport’s operational readiness and fulfilling its role as a major regional transportation hub.

The long-term development plan for Quang Tri Airport involves a series of upgrades that will transform it into “a comprehensive aviation, logistics, services, and commercial hub”. On April 27, 202, the T&T Group and Cienco 4 consortium have already proposed the early construction of a two-story passenger terminal to enhance the airport’s capacity ahead of schedule. Following the completion of the first phase, the airport will be upgraded to a level 4E facility by 2026. This will include extending the runway to 4,000 meters, allowing the airport to accommodate all types of aircraft without restrictions. The upgrade could also involve the construction of a second runway, contingent upon rising demand. Additionally, there will be comprehensive construction to ensure compliance with Code E aircraft operations, supporting a cargo capacity of 1.5 million tons per year.

Central general contractor is responsible for executing key components of the project, including the passenger terminal, control tower, and MEP systems, with a commitment to meeting deadlines, ensuring quality, and maintaining absolute safety.

Reporting to the Deputy Prime Minister, Investor T&T Group of Quang Tri Airport said that after nearly 1 year of implementation, the project has now completed the aircraft parking lot (32,917m²), official roads, operators, cement concrete stations, auxiliary areas, etc  drainage system. Currently, Central’s PMB is ready with all resources, equipment and manpower to coordinate with the consortium and the Investor to enter the implementation stage of the next items.

During the inspection, Comrade Tran Hong Ha expressed gratitude to the contractors and participating units, acknowledging the serious and responsible work ethic observed at the site. He affirmed, “Quang Tri Airport symbolizes the aspiration for advancement, forged from the sacrifices of countless generations, reflecting the resilient spirit of the heroic land. This project carries a monumental mission: to connect Quảng Trị with the nation and the world, transforming developmental dreams into reality, and continuing to write illustrious chapters in the journey of nation-building and integration.”

He also expressed deep appreciation for the enterprises that dominate technology and pioneer the construction of large-scale projects, affirming Vietnam’s intellectual and capability standing on the international stage.

To ensure the project meets its deadline, quality, and safety targets, the Quang Tri provincial government pledged ongoing support for the investors, promptly addressing obstacles and creating favorable conditions for efficient project implementation.

All contractors, investors, and project management teams committed to optimizing their responsibilities, mobilizing human resources and modern equipment, and employing scientific construction methods that prioritize quality, timelines, workplace safety, and strict adherence to legal regulations for the collective success of this project.

Central’s PMB reaffirmed their commitment to executing the project safely, on schedule, and with high quality, collaborating with all parties involved to create a project worthy of this era and contribute to elevating Quang Tri as a bright spot on the country’s development map.

At the invitation of SUMOU & BUNA Group, Mr. Tran Quang Tuan, Chairman and CEO of CENTRAL Construction Joint Stock Company, recently embarked on a high-level business trip to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. CENTRAL is currently serving as the main contractor for critical construction packages of the Sumou Towers project—a mixed-use development featuring twin towers rising 71 stories, located along the shores of the Red Sea.

This visit marks a significant follow-up to the 2024 delegation to Vietnam by SUMOU & BUNA Group’s executive leadership, which concluded with strong praise for CENTRAL’s capabilities. The trip provided Chairman and CEO of CENTRAL the opportunity to meet directly with Dr. Ayedh Farhan Al-Qahtani, Chairman of SUMOU & BUNA Group, as well as senior management, to assess construction progress, review quality standards, and explore further long-term collaboration.

Built upon an increasingly solid partnership, the discussions have opened up new strategic opportunities for CENTRAL in the Middle East—particularly in alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 roadmap and the country’s preparations for hosting the 2034 FIFA World Cup.

With a pioneering mindset, strong support from international partners, and an unwavering commitment to surpassing construction standards, CENTRAL continues to affirm its position as a leading Vietnamese general contractor with global ambitions.

The investor commended CENTRAL’s strengths in comprehensive coordination, timeline management, and stringent quality control—all vital in a large-scale development spanning over 415,000 m², which includes 5-star hotels, branded residences, commercial centers, and world-class amenities.
